Antonio Vergara is a GRAMMY®-nominated artist, producer, mixing and mastering engineer, and singer-songwriter with a career spanning over three decades. Also a Latin GRAMMY®-nominated mixing engineer and voting member of The Recording Academy® in the United States, he has become a key figure in the evolution of contemporary blues, fusing tradition with innovation.

In 2024, he made history by becoming the first Ibero-American artist ever nominated for Best Contemporary Blues Album at the GRAMMYs® with his record The Fury. The project was entirely produced and performed by Vergara, showcasing his guitar mastery, deep songwriting, and a unique vision of the genre.

He was honored by the United States Congress with a Certificate of Special Recognition for his outstanding and invaluable service to the international music community.

Antonio is widely acclaimed across Latin America and the Caribbean for his expressive and electrifying performances on lap steel and resonator guitars, positioning him among the world’s top contemporary blues artists. His music, deeply rooted in the Chicago and Texas blues traditions, has been described by Rolling Stone USA as “biting and emotionally urgent,” while Thom Jurek praised his “clean, non-intrusive production” across more than 90 recorded albums.

He has shared the stage with blues and jazz legends such as Sugar Blue, Lurrie Bell, Billy Branch, and Chembo Corniel, among others. Holding two doctorates and a postdoctorate, Antonio’s academic and musical paths intertwine, forming a unique voice in the global blues scene.
